Volunteering at Pembroke Park Community Garden Clean-Up
Community service is a valuable contribution to society. I have volunteered previously, more for requirements rather than just doing so. Entering ENC 3212 and finding out that community service would be a part of the curriculum had me intrigued, especially since one of the volunteer opportunities was to hold a basketball tournament for charity. Unfortunately, the day of the tournament conflicted with my schedule so I had to find an alternative volunteering event. When it came to deciding where I wanted to volunteer, I had many places to choose from. As advised, when it comes to volunteering, you should find something that falls along your interests. For instance, if you advocate for the environment and sea creatures, a beach clean-up would be a good place to start. Personally, I wasn't sure where I wanted to volunteer.
